OK Book Club online meeting,
Thursday, May 21, 7 PM
May/June - Our Animal Hearts: A small village perched on an enormous lake made famous by the monster said to haunt its depths.
OK Book Club online meeting
Thursday, June 25th, 7 PM
Meet online to discuss these critically acclaimed recent novels set in the Okanagan.
The Okanagan Online Book Club will feature special guests - the authors, themselves, will pop by to answer questions!
How does it work?
Just like an in-person book club, a book is chosen for each month, we read it, then come together to discuss the book over snacks and refreshments – each of us in our own homes, connecting online.
We’ll have a month to read the book and during this time, discussion questions, book reviews, and author interviews will be linked to from the book's OK Book Club page.
When you join the OK Book Club, we’ll send you a link to an online meeting that you can join for free, without a membership. You can join with or without video and you can either join in the conversation or keep your own microphone on mute – you choose your own level of comfort.
OK Book Club is an initiative of the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives. As such, the books chosen are by local Okanagan authors, and have historical content and context, with a contemporary relevance.
In May, we’ll assess what the provincial and federal standards are for social distancing, and decide if we’ll keep the Okanagan Book Club online, or if we’ll move to meeting one evening a month at the Vernon museum – or both!
